Media Relations
I am a versatile and creative storyteller who loves forging and using media contacts to help educate the public about government services and garner the best coverage for organizations and their brands. In addition, I enjoy helping reporters tell the most compelling stories and counseling organizational leaders on smart media strategies. This includes a strategic understanding of traditional and social/digital media, exceptional storytelling, persuasive pitching, expert selection, preparation and support of spokespersons with key messages and question/answer development, as well as media training. I am also skilled at providing project management support for media events.
Social Media
I enjoy developing and implementing strategic social media plans to attract and engage target audiences to support a brand’s objectives. This includes creating innovative and strategic content then utilizing Instagram, Facebook, X, Nextdoor, Threads, LinkedIn and YouTube to engage with target audiences. I measure, track, and report on the performance of social media content, and adjust plans accordingly. My social media support also involves engaging with followers to answer questions and increase positive engagement. Additionally, I understand the importance of strategically using photography, videos, creative design and compelling writing to endear target audiences.
Website and Intranet Management
I’ve had the honor of leading a detailed project to beautifully, strategically and completely redevelop the Forsyth County website to improve accessibility (WCAG compliance) and engagement with county services. The website launches soon and will be supported by a robust governance plan. I previously led a full-scale intranet redevelopment for CIBA Vision (a.k.a. Alcon) and contributed to the redesign of the North Point Community Church website.
Community Relations
I have helped organizations forge and leverage mutually beneficial connections with community members, businesses, nonprofits and government leaders to help involve, endear and support local communities. This includes planning and implementing public engagement opportunities as well as researching, evaluating and leveraging thought leadership opportunities, speaking engagements and brand sponsorships. My experience also includes helping organizations strategically collaborate with other organizations and supporting these efforts through project and event mangement as well as social media and media relations support.
Promotion/Graphic Design/Video Production
I enjoy leveraging helpful resources like Canva and partnering with professional videographers and graphic artists to elevate brands through graphics, photos and videos shared via digital/print/outdoor ads, videos, flyers, newsletters, event banners, promotional items, signage and more.
Crisis Communications
I have provided communications support for numerous County Emergency Operations Center activations and to businesses facing local, regional, and global crises, including response to inclement weather events, a water plant outage, product recalls, media coverage of consumer complaints, and media coverage of product misuse. I can be relied upon to remain calm and provide wise counsel, clear messaging, and expert spokesperson support. I aim to help organizations and brands respond promptly and effectively with internal and external communications.
Internal Communications
I am passionate about rallying employees and volunteers around a brand’s mission and goals across an array of spaces and channels with authentic, culture-aligned, must-consume content that inspires, equips and aligns. In addition, I find it rewarding to serve as a thoughtful strategic partner to executives and other leaders and to recruit teams and key internal stakeholders to support a shared communications strategy and messaging. I also have extensive experience providing project management for various events.
